NBC, Versus To Air Series Of Summer Races From Saratoga

NYRA and NBC Sports Group today formally announced a deal for live TV coverage of a series of horse races this summer from Saratoga Race Course. The "Summer at Saratoga" telecasts will air over seven weekends beginning July 23 and will include the $1M Travers Stakes on Aug. 27. Five of the broadcasts will be on Versus, the other three on NBC (NBC Universal). The news, first reported by Thoroughbred Times, "apparently" means that MSG Plus' weekly showcase of Saratoga races "will be a program of the past" (TIMESUNION.com, 5/4).
