Donald Trump Out As Pace Car Driver For Indianapolis 500

Donald Trump is “no longer this month’s Indianapolis 500 pace car driver.” Trump told Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials that “continuing with the program conflicts with his possible presidential campaign.” No replacement for the May 29 race has been selected, but the news “relieves significant pressure Trump created after accepting the Speedway’s offer.” IMS officials in recent weeks have “felt the backlash” from Trump’s comments about President Obama, and were “inundated by complaints on social media,” including a Facebook page called “Dump Trump” (INDYSTAR.com, 5/5).
