Videotron Gets Naming Rights For Unbuilt Quebec City Arena

Quebec City announced that its not-yet-built NHL-ready arena will be called the Videotron amphitheatre after reaching a naming-rights deal with the cable provider via its parent company, Quebecor. Videotron will pay C$33M for naming rights for 25 years, another C$3.15M annually for arena management rights. Videotron will give the city 15% of profits from the facility. The arena in return "will be built entirely with taxpayers' money." Terms are "specific to the building," and "profits from any future NHL team would be separate" (CP, 3/1).
