SEAHAWKS INK SPONSORSHIP DEAL WITHAMERIQUEST MORTGAGE

NFL sponsor AmeriquestMortgage today announced a sponsorship deal with the Seahawks, becoming theofficial mortgage company of the team. Ameriquest receives signage and kiosks at Qwest Field, as well as use ofthe team’s marks. The Seahawks join theBroncos, Texans, Colts, Vikings, Saints, Jets, Chargers and 49ers as NFL teamswith Ameriquest deals. In ’04,Ameriquest has expanded its sports-marketing portfolio in league deals with theNFL and MLB, team deals across the two sports and naming rights for the MLBRangers’ ballpark (THE DAILY).


DEW ACTION SPORTS TOUR UNVEILS SCHEDULE,TITLE SPONSORS

The Dew Action Sports Tourtoday unveiled its ’05 schedule. Thetour has multiyear agreements with all five sites. NBC, which co-owns the tour with ClearChannel, plans to broadcast 19 hours of mostly live coverage of theseason. The tour projects attendance of100,000 at each stop. RED SOX LOOKING TO CLOSE THE DOOR ON86-YEAR-OLD CURSE

Holding a 3-0 World Serieslead, the Red Sox will try to extinguish the Curse of the Bambino tonightagainst the Cardinals at 8:00pm ET at Busch Stadium. Fox will broadcast the game live.

TELEVISION WEEK reports that Foxwill have “a successful baseball postseason” with “anything other than a sweepin the World Series.” Fox President of Ad Sales Jon Nesvig said that about 15% of the ad units for Games Six andSeven are still available. Nesvig“expects some advertisers to wait and see how the Series goes-and to seewhether Fox will lower its prices” (TELEVISION WEEK, 10/25 issue).

Meanwhile, HOFers Tommy Lasorda, George Brett and Ozzie Smithwill accompany Charlie Ashley ofPortland, Maine, and his father to tonight’s game as part of Ameriquest’s TakeA Legend to the World Series sweepstakes. Brett and Smith appeared on ESPN2’s “Cold Pizza” this morning to discussthe promotion. Smith and Lasorda willappear on CNBC’s “Bullseye” at 6:00pm ET tonight to discuss it (THE DAILY).

Boston-based marketinganalytics provider Fortelligent today announced a sponsorship deal with the PGATour for the November 2-7 Tour Championship presented by Coca-Cola at East LakeGolf Club in Atlanta(Fortelligent).

Toronto’s CJCL-AM announced yesterday that Paul Romanuk and Paul Jones will broadcast all 82 Raptors game on the station. Romanuk replaces Chuck Swirsky, who will work exclusively on TV, while Jonesreplaces Leo Rautins and Jack Armstrong (TORONTO STAR, 10/27).
