MAX KELLERMAN JUMPS TO FSN TO LEAD DAILY N.Y.-BASED SHOW

FSNtoday announced that Max Kellerman, former host of ESPN’s “Around TheHorn,” has joined the net, effective immediately. Kellerman will host a 30-minute daily show based out of N.Y. thatwill launch in mid-April. The show willbe the first FSN program to completely originate from N.Y. FSN execs describe the show as a mix between“The O’Reilly Factor” and “The Daily Show.” Kellerman will also contribute to FSN’s “Sunday Night Fights” and otherprogramming (FSN).


ESPN TODAY INKS CARRIAGE DEALS WITH COX & CHARTER

ESPN today announced long-term distribution agreements with both Charter and Cox Communications including the continued distribution of ESPN and ESPN2 on expanded basic cable. Cox will continue to carry ESPNews, ESPN Classic and ESPN HD and will launch ESPN Deports in markets where it offers a Spanish-language tier. Charter will continue to carry ESPN Classic, ESPNews, and will launch ESPN Broadband, ESPN Deportes and ESPN HD. Additional terms of the agreements were not disclosed (ESPN).


LEXUS, PETER JACOBSEN TODAY AGREE TO FIVE-YEAR PARTNERSHIP

Lexusand PGA Tour player Peter Jacobsen today announced that they have signeda five-year partnership agreement, under which Jacobsen will wear the Lexusname and logo during tournaments and public appearances for the brand (Lexus).

SMItoday announced that its BOD unanimously appointed VP, Treasurer & CFO WilliamBrooks to Exec VP & CFO, VP/Business Development Marcus Smith toExec VP/National Sales & Marketing and Controller James Scudder toChief Accounting Officer. SELLOUT CROWD IN HAND FOR TONIGHT’S DC UNITED EXHIBITION

DCUnited will face the Wizards tonight during a 7:00pm ET MLS exhibition match atthe Univ. of South Florida in Tampa, and the ST. PETERSBURG TIMES notes thatthe match features Freddy Adu, who has “generated an unprecedented buzzin the American soccer community.” Tonight’s match, “which benefits the USF soccer program, sold out the3,860-seat venue and an additional few hundred seats have been added along thesidelines” (ST.PETERSBURG TIMES, 2/19).

VikingsOwner Red McCombs today released a statement that read in part:“Contrary to published reports that I’m in discussions to sell the team, thereare no discussions with anyone regarding the sale of the Vikings. … Thesereports pop up from time to time and it’s unfortunate that they do” (Vikings).

SchickQuattro today announced that it will be the primary sponsor of Toliver Racing’sNHRA Funny Car, driven by Jerry Toliver. Schick will leverage its sponsorship with consumer-directcommunications, in-store sweepstakes and sampling at races. Schick Quattro is also the official razor ofthe NHRA (Schick Quattro).

SonyComputer Entertainment America and 989 Sports today announced that MLS Galaxy FCarlos Ruiz will be the cover athlete for the upcoming “World TourSoccer 2005.” The game is scheduled fora spring ’04 release (Sony Computer).

TheORLANDO BUSINESS JOURNAL reports that the Orlando office of CKPR, the publicrelations arm of Chicago-based Cramer-Krasselt, has “landed a contract with St.Johns County to promote the area as a tourist destination” as part of nextyear’s Super Bowl. CKPR “competedwith five other agencies for the $135,000 contract, funded by the county’stourist development tax” (BIZJOURNALS.com,2/19).

MicrosSystems today announced that it has been selected to supply an enterprisesystem to manage Citizens Bank Park’s food services, which will be managed by ajoint venture of the Phillies, Aramark and World Wide Concessions (MicrosSystems).
