LEITER AND BOONE TO SERVE AS ANALYSTS FOR FOX’ LCS COVERAGE

FoxSports today announced that it has added Mets P Al Leiter and Mariners2B Bret Boone as game analysts for the NLCS and ALCS, respectively.  Leiter will join Thom Brennaman and SteveLyons for the NLCS, while Boone will join Joe Buck and TimMcCarver for the ALCS (Fox Sports).

MLB.comtoday announced that a live streaming video pregame show will air prior toevery postseason game throughout the World Series.  Guest analysts will include NFL Network anchor Rich Eisen,D’Backs 3B Matt Williams, former MLB managers Davey Johnson, TommyLasorda and Bob Boone, as well as “Wheel of Fortune” host PatSajak (MLB.com).

L.A.-BASED PARAGON SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT LAUNCHES TODAY

FormerGaylord Cable Networks President Cindy Wilson today announced theformation of L.A.-based Paragon Sports Entertainment, which will providebranded entertainment opportunities through televised events, as well asdevelop sports-related TV series and specials. The group is initially focusing on new PGA Tour events, including an ’05Champions Tour event.  Wilson will leadParagon as its President.  The rest ofthe management team is as follows:

TennisMagazine today announced that Pete Sampras has become an investor,partner and special consultant to Tennis Magazine and Tennis.com.  Sampras will be involved in corporate andmarketing efforts, as well as contribute articles and instruction pieces to thepublications (Tennis Magazine).

ESPN2’s“NFL Films Presents” at 7:00pm ET will include a segment with NFL Senior Dir ofOfficiating Mike Pereira, and the HOUSTON CHRONICLE notes that when theNFL Network debuts November 4, Pereira will “will appear each Monday to discussthe previous day’s controversial plays and explain if officials made the rightor wrong calls.”  NFL Films President SteveSabol: “Mike Pereira will be the Brad Pitt of the NFL Network” (HOUSTONCHRONICLE, 10/6).
