TODAY'S ARTICLES OF INTEREST

The PHILADELPHIA BUSINESS JOURNAL's John George writes that NFL Films officially opened its new home last week.  The $45M headquarters, built on a 26-acre site in Mount Laurel, NJ, features: "a three-story, glass-encased film-processing lab; two shooting stages, one of which houses the set for 'NFL Under the Helmet' aired on Fox; …a 150-seat theater; and a scoring stage capable of accommodating a 72-piece orchestra" (PHILADELPHIA BUSINESS JOURNAL).

REUTERS' Jeffrey Goldfarb reports that while "early autumn is the ultimate television time for sports junkies, who zap from baseball playoffs to football, to preseason basketball and to hockey… team owners and the bankers who advise them, are even busier, looking to sell franchises at a frenetic pace."  He notes that "three of the country's 120 professional sports teams have changed ownership in the past year, a 50 percent stake in one was sold and as many as a dozen more could be put on the block" (REUTERS).

ESPN.com's Rupen Fofaria welcomes readers to the infield of Talladega Superspeedway, the "largest track on the NASCAR Winston Cup Series Circuit and, for a handful of days and nights no less than twice each year, home to both the rowdiest and friendliest infield residents in racing" (ESPN.com).

The COLUMBUS DISPATCH's Jim Weiker writes that OH State Univ.'s tough licensing policy "works to make its name the best damn brand in the land" (COLUMBUS DISPATCH).

I feel I understand the heart of the service and that I can add value. As I put it, we are out to do the three R's: reset, revitalize, reconceptualize. That's our challenge as a company" (BUSINESSWEEK.com, 10/8).
