ComScore: ESPN in Feb. leads in digital, social

ESPN maintained its top position among sports outlets on digital and social media platforms in February after a record-setting January, per new data from comScore. ESPN Digital has now held the No. 1 spot in the U.S. sports category for two straight years now. There was 103.4 million unique visitors across its outlets for February, tops in sports, but lower than the 121.7 million to start the year.

ESPN was No. 1 in the mobile sports app category with 25.5 million unique users (January was 28.2 million). The ESPN Fantasy app led all fantasy sports app with 3.2 million uniques in February (vs. 8.4 million in January). 

ESPN on YouTube had 42.6 million uniques, up 23% from the same period last year. That figure in January was 51.6 million. 

ComScore’s social media category for sports was led by ESPN feeds (for the 32nd straight month) with 652 million fan engagements. That was 827 million in January.
