WrestleMania XL becomes WWE's most successful event in company history

WrestleMania XL saw 145,298 in attendance at Lincoln Financial Field over two nights, breaking the previous record set by WrestleMania 39 by 78%WWE

WrestleMania XL last weekend at Lincoln Financial Field was the most-successful and highest-grossing event in company history. The event saw 145,298 in attendance at Lincoln Financial Field over two nights, breaking the previous record set by WrestleMania 39 by 78%. Viewership was up 41% across both nights versus last year’s record-setting audience. In partnership with Fanatics, merchandise sales were up more than 20% versus the previous record set at WrestleMania 39. WrestleMania XL became the most socially viewed WrestleMania of all-time, with over 660 million views consumed over the two days. WWE’s YouTube channel saw its most-viewed day in channel history on WrestleMania XL Sunday with more than 67 million views in 24 hours (WWE).

WHEN AND WHERE? In Philadelphia, Rob Tornoe wrote the “biggest question among wrestling fans is when and where" WrestleMania will take place next year, as WWE “hasn’t released any details about WrestleMania 41.” Minneapolis reportedly is "among the finalists to host next year’s event,” and the "winning city should find out sometime soon," now that this year’s WrestleMania has concluded. If WrestleMania lands in Minneapolis, it would take place at U.S. Bank Stadium. Another “rumored front-runner is Las Vegas,” now that WWE is owned by Endeavor (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 4/8).
