Former MLBers join Perfect Game as investors

Youth baseball platform Perfect Game today announced a new investor group that includes 21 current or former MLB players. The group consists of Francisco Cervelli, Scott Erickson, Brian Fuentes, Tom Gordon, Yasmani Grandal, Mark Guthrie, Trevor Hoffman, Aubrey Huff, Tim Lincecum, Charlie Manuel, Rougned Odor, Hunter Pence, Salvador Perez, Gregory Polanco, Miguel Rojas, Alfonso Soriano, Denard Span, Jose Contreras, Reid Brignac, Ryan Klesko and Mo Vaughn. Perfect Game Commissioner and Chicago White Sox executive Dennis Gilbert is also part of the group. The size of the investment was not disclosed.

Last month, Klesko and Vaughn joined Perfect Game as special assistants to ownership, assisting Chairman Rick Thurman and CEO Rob Ponger. Klesko is tasked with working closely on the player development side of Perfect Game, while Vaughn is assisting the organization with identifying youth baseball talent in parts of the country where the socioeconomic status may prevent access or opportunity.
