MLB Marketing Notes: Guardians team up with The Black Keys on limited-edition vinyl

In Cleveland, Marco Bona reported the Guardians and recording group The Black Keys teamed up to create a limited-edition “Erie Blue & Rust Belt Red” vinyl record pressing of the band’s upcoming album, Ohio Players. Those interested in the limited-edition record have two ways to obtain a copy. Reserve a copy by purchasing a “special ticket package” for Saturday, April 20, when Cleveland hosts the A’s or purchase a copy at “select record stores across Northern and Central Ohio on Monday, April 8” -- the date of the Guardians’ home opener (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 3/27).

NONPROFIT FUNDS: The Twins and financial services organization Thrivent announced a multi-year partnership -- including a new fund that provides $200,000 annually to select local nonprofits, naming rights to Target Field’s club level and a rebranded annual ticket plan. Target Field’s club level has been renamed as the Thrivent Club, and the team’s annual ballpark pass ticket plan is now rebranded as the Twins Pass presented by Thrivent (Twins).

A NEW TEAM IN TOWN: ADWEEK’s Sara Century reported that oat milk brand Oatly and MiLB are “continuing the recent partnership” between the brands by debuting the “Malmö Oat Milkers” during the 2024 season. Representing Oatly‘s hometown in Sweden, the Oat Milkers will be a “rotating cast, with each of MiLB’s 120 teams playing one game this season sporting the Malmö uniforms.” Expanding on Oatly’s presence throughout MiLB stadiums in recent months, Oat Milkers events will feature “interactive game experiences from the brand” and touchpoints will appear throughout all 120 MiLB ballparks. Fans hoping to travel to all 120 MiLB team cities to follow the Oat Milkers can enter to win season tickets (ADWEEK, 3/28).
