Tottenham facing backlash for season ticket price increase, removal of senior concessions

Premier League club Tottenham has "angered supporter groups" with a 6% price rise for season tickets and making new senior concessions unavailable from next year, according to Mike McGrath of the London TELEGRAPH. Tottenham, who moved into their new stadium in 2019, pointed to “increased matchday costs and the price of utilities to justify their hike.” When releasing their new ticket prices, the club pointed out there has been only one price increase, of 1.5%, for season tickets since the stadium opened five years ago. Starting with the 2025-26 season there also will be “no new senior concession season tickets for the over-65s." Tottenham fan group THFC Flags "cancelled their giant 'tifo' stadium display" for the game against Manchester City in April in “protest at the new measures.” The Tottenham Supporters Trust branded the move to make new senior concessions unavailable as “unacceptable” (London TELEGRAPH, 3/6).
