Sportiqe opening retail location inside N.Y.'s NBA Store

Sportiqe
Lifestyle apparel brand Sportiqe is opening its most notable retail footprint to date inside the NBA Store in New York on Fifth Avenue in conjunction with the NBA Playoffs that are underway, and it will feature a curated, exclusive selection of NBA and WNBA branded merchandise. The boutique will open to the public on Friday at 10am ET and will become a permanent staple inside the league’s flagship store in New York, which is operated by Lids.

The 500 square foot designated shop will feature NBA and WNBA-branded gear that includes premium T-shirts, hoodies and joggers, as well as limited-edition seasonal collections that can be found only in the store. To coincide with the opening of the boutique, the brand will release its Sun-Dipped Nostalgic Summer Collection that will be available for a limited time. NBA and WNBA-branded NYC gear will also be available for a limited time to purchase in store.

Sportiqe co-founder Jason Franklin said the new shopping boutique is a part of the lifestyle brand’s plan to build out new elevated shopping experiences on a global level in 2025 and beyond. He notes an understanding of the fashion world and translating it to the everyday fan through team merch was key to the development of the designated boutique, which was built in about nine months.

Sportiqe, which was founded 18 years ago, has gear that is currently available in all NBA and WNBA team shops at their home venues. The brand’s first models of boutiques came to the Suns’ Footprint Center and Hawks’ State Farm Arena two years ago, both which touted elevated shopping experiences for consumers as well as increased merchandise sales. The brand has a signature red tag and has served more than 6 million people worldwide.

Franklin said later in May, Sportiqe will release a new collection in collaboration with the NBA and the Rolling Stones to celebrate the band’s summer tour in the U.S. He added that fans soon will begin seeing Sportiqe shops featured in MLS venues. NBAers who have been seen donning the signature clothing line includes Knicks’ Julius Randle, Suns’ Kevin Durant, Warriors’ Stephen Curry and Celtics’ Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
