More About You

Most important lesson of the past 18 months: After a period of the COVID-19 pandemic when all sports were in question, the value of sports was proven, even during times when everything in our daily lives completely and suddenly changed.

Go-to person when I need help: Larry Goldman (group vice president, Genesco) has a calm, objective approach and he is one of the best problem solvers I know. Larry has a way of taking very complex situations and bringing forward a straightforward solution.

My inspiration: I’ve had great coaches throughout my time in sports but I’ve been most inspired by Youman Wilder, founder and director of the Harlem Baseball Hitting Academy, who dedicated his life to helping young people change the course of their lives through sports. … He provides unconditional support, often to kids who lack resources to compete on a level playing field.

In the Industry

What drew me to a career sports: I grew up playing and being surrounded by sports, and while in college, I was drawn to try an internship in the sports industry. My marketing internship with the New York Mets immediately solidified my desired career path.

Biggest surprise when I started my career: I was amazed by all that happens behind the scenes to create each significant moment experienced by fans. The emotion, passion and memories that resonate so deeply with fans are the output of incredibly hardworking and talented people.

Most exciting aspect of sports business: I am most excited by the opportunity to create lasting memories that fans will take with them forever.

Sports industry needs to do a better job of … : Bringing diversity into the business side of our industry and then cultivating that young talent so they can become future leaders in our industry.
