THE SPORTING NEWS' 100 MOST POWERFUL PEOPLE IN SPORTS IN '99

          THE SPORTING NEWS released its tenth annual rankings of
     its "Power 100" today in N.Y.  News Corp. execs Rupert
     Murdoch, Chase Carey and David Hill share the top spot, as
     TSN writes that "Fox's three-headed executive branch works
     together like one smooth machine."  Murdoch is ranked No. 1
     for the fourth time since '94.  TSN also unveiled its Top
     100 power brokers of the century, naming former NFL
     Commissioner Pete Rozelle No. 1 (THE SPORTING NEWS, 12/20).
