Rick Burton is the David B. Falk Distinguished Professor of Sport Management at Syracuse University and the school’s Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) to the ACC and NCAA. He is the former chief marketing officer for the U.S. Olympic Committee and former Commissioner of Australia’s National Basketball League. A 1980 graduate of Syracuse University with an MBA from Marquette University (1991), he is the co-author of numerous books including 20 Secrets to Success for NCAA Student-Athletes, Sports Business Unplugged and Forever Orange. He is a regular contributor to Sports Business Journal.
