ERIC LONG

Director, Production, Philadelphia '76ers

Many young sports fans fantasize about taking the field as a professional someday, while only a few get to realize that dream. Eric Long was one of those dreamers, and despite his athletic shortcomings he discovered another way to turn a stadium into his office shortly after graduating from the Film-Video program at Penn State University.
Now in his ninth season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Long manages the organization’s creative department as Director of Production. His talented team strives to blend great ideas with the latest technology, engaging fans on a broad variety of platforms including the team’s website, mobile app, social media accounts, television shows, and podcasts. He has developed numerous successful content campaigns, generating revenue while maintaining entertainment value and quality. In addition to his strategic responsibilities, Long plays a central role in the live presentation of Eagles home games at Lincoln Financial Field, serving as executive producer of the team’s videoboard show. He oversaw the recent renovation of the building’s LED surfaces and video control room, which included elements of 4K workflow and placed the Eagles among the most progressive in-venue broadcasts in the country.
Long has been employed by several major and minor league sports teams and college athletic programs, as well as serving as a nationwide consultant. Among the hundreds of live events he has worked his credits include football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and rugby broadcasts. Over a decade after seeing his dream become a reality, he continues to appreciate the privilege of being part of the game.
