In London, Jeremy Wilson noted the U.K. has “stuck with traditional colours -- and gone for a striking navy blue backdrop” -- in its official Olympic and Paralympic kits that “preserve the traditional red, white and blue Union flags.” The Adidas team kit will have a “striking predominance of dark blue at this summer’s Paris Olympics” that “represents a shift from recent competition kits that have generally been set on a white backdrop.” The tracksuits "will be worn on the podium,” but are in a “white base and will have the Union flag on the arm” (London TELEGRAPH, 4/18).

POPPING UP: In Detroit, Adrienne Roberts reported the sportswear brand Klutch Athletics by New Balance “will open a pop-up store in Detroit for the NFL draft,” offering apparel and Detroit-themed customization options. The pop-up store “will be open to the public April 25-26 during the NFL draft” and feature Klutch Athletics by New Balance apparel, a brand created by Klutch founder & CEO Rich Paul. The store “joins a few other pop-up stores that are opening in time for the NFL draft” (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 4/18).
