In Milwaukee, Radcliffe, Reid & Kirby noted the establishment a new parking system at American Family Field “doesn't appear to be going smoothly out of the gate.” Instead of collecting parking fees upon entrance to the lot, the Brewers are “posting a QR code drivers can scan directing them to a web page,” where they can enter their license plates and pay the associated parking rate. If they do not play in Europe in 2024, they “must give up a home game at Paycor Stadium to play internationally in either 2025 of 2027” (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 4/2).
SILENCE SPEAKS LOUDLY: In Phoenix, Greg Moore reported the Cardinals have been ordered to pay a former team executive $3M after a ruling that the team “made false and defamatory statements, with malice,” about former VP/Player Personnel Terry McDonough. Moore wrote this is a “real hit” to owner Michael Bidwill’s credibility. This situation “stinks,” and Bidwill is “not talking.” That “makes it hard to give him the benefit of the doubt.” It would “show real leadership” if Bidwill “stepped up and spoke with independent media outlets” who cover the team every day. Moore: “What can Bidwill say that will inspire the fan base and potential business partners to believe he’s more than this slew of negativity and the right guy to help turn this organization into a model of success -- on and off the field?” (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 4/2).
