Media Notes

In D.C., Scott Allen wrote the Nationals on Wednesday announced they "will add Spanish-language radio broadcasts" this season, with "all games" airing on DC 87.7 FM, La Pantera 100.7 FM and 1220 AM and the MLB app for MLB.TV subscribers. The team’s Spanish-language broadcast, which will debut for the Nationals’ Futures Game on March 26 and continue with Opening Day coverage on March 28, will "include 15-minute pregame and postgame shows, as well as player interviews." Luciano Rodríguez will handle play-by-play and Gustavo Salazar will serve as the color analyst. The team have not had a Spanish-language broadcast since 2011 (WASHINGTON POST, 3/14).

MOVING PIECES: In Atlanta, Justin Toscano wrote Braves field reporter Kelly Crull, who covered the team for four seasons, will not return for the 2024 season. According to sources, her contract was up, and the networks did "not renew it." Crull had been the Braves’ field reporter since 2020, when she replaced Kelsey Wingert-Linch at the start of the season. In 2024, the Bally networks will "use three field reporters: Hanna Yates, Wiley Ballard and Ashley ShahAhmadi." Toscano noted Yates "likely will end up working more games than the other two," but fans "probably will see Ballard and ShahAhmadi more than Yates earlier in the season." Yates is a reporter and host covering the Hurricanes for Bally Sports South (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 3/14).

SHE’S GOT GAME: In Boston, Chad Finn reported in commemoration of Women’s History Month, NBC Sports Boston “will feature an all-female broadcast team” when the Celtics host the Pistons on Monday. Play-by-play voice Zora Stephenson of NBC Sports will team up with analysts Abby Chin and Connecticut Sun G DiJonai Carrington on the call. Chin is normally the “sideline reporter on broadcasts,” but for this game, ESPN’s Kayla Burton “will be the sideline reporter.” In the studio, Amina Smith will be in her familiar role as the pregame, halftime, and postgame anchor. Smith will be joined by Sun President Jennifer Rizzotti and Celtics scout and Maine Celtics Assistant GM Ashley Battle as analysts (BOSTON GLOBE, 3/14).
