Million meal pack

Atlanta Hawks owners Tony Ressler and Jami Gertz and State Farm SVP Dan Krause joined 5,000 volunteers to pack over 1 million meals on Oct. 6 at State Farm Arena. Every meal packed will be distributed by six local organizations serving various constituencies throughout metro Atlanta. The nonprofit Feeding Children Everywhere served as the logistics lead of the meal pack event.

Fear the Deer

Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Forum President Peter Feigin; Michael Belot, SVP of Bucks Ventures and Development and Fiserv Forum Senior Executive Chef Kenneth Hardiman celebrated the opening of Fear District, the new Halloween experience that includes three 3,600-square-foot haunted houses on the plaza at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Sept. 26. The Fear District will be open through Nov. 3.

Michigan Sports HOF marks 65th year 

The Michigan Sports Hall of Fame celebrated its 65th anniversary on Oct. 5, with the induction of the 2019 class: Mike O’Hara, member of the Detroit media; Tom Wilson, president/CEO of Olympia Sports and Entertainment; Charles Woodson, former University of Michigan and NFL player; Morris Peterson, former Michigan State University and Toronto Raptors player; Diane Dietz, former University of Michigan basketball player and current deputy commissioner of the Big Ten Conference; Harry Atkins, Associated Press sports writer; Allison Schmitt, four-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer; Dan Fife, former University of Michigan basketball and baseball player and longtime Clarkston High School basketball coach; Vladimir Konstantinov (in wheelchair), former Detroit Red Wings player.
