CBS Draws Best Viewership For Season-Long SEC Package Since '13

CBS averaged 7.1 million viewers for its SEC football coverage this season, marking the net's best figure since '13 (7.4 million viewers). This year also was CBS' second-best SEC figure since '01, when it began showing primarily SEC games. CBS' best figure in '13 was boosted by a huge number for Alabama-Texas A&M to start the season coming off Johnny Manziel's Heisman win. The SEC package in '19 is up 24% from last year and will once again be the most-watched college football package among all networks (11 years running). LSU's 37-10 win over Georgia in the SEC Championship on Saturday drew 13.7 million viewers, down 22% from 17.5 million for Alabama-Georgia last year, but up 2% from 13.5 million for Georgia-Auburn in '17. CBS still has the Army-Navy matchup this coming Saturday, but with the expected audience for that game, the network will likely wrap '19 with its most-viewed complete season of college football since '90 (29 years). CBS did not have any other Navy games this season.
