The Golden Knights on Feb. 21-22 will honor the '80 U.S Olympic men's hockey team on the 40th anniversary of its "Miracle on Ice" victory at the Lake Placid Games, according to Ed Graney of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL. As part of the proceedings, the Golden Knights will "host an event with those members" of the U.S. team and season-ticket holders in attendance on Feb. 21 at the Brooklyn Bowl. Then, on Feb. 22, a public event with the '80 team will take place at 2:00pm PT at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center that will "include video of never-before-seen moments from its implausible run at Lake Placid." Later that day, the team will be honored during the Golden Knights' 7:00pm game against the Panthers at T-Mobile Arena. Golden Knights CMO Brian Killingsworth said, "We thought it best to make a weekend out of it." All living members of the 20-member team were invited to Las Vegas (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 11/15).
