The latest episode of HBO’s “BALLERS” followed the NFL covering up a video of a player involved in a shooting. When fictional league exec Candace Brewer, played by EMAYATZY CORINEALDI, receives a FedEx package that is implied to be the video, she does not sign for the package, presumably to be able to deny ever seeing it. When new Chiefs Owner Spencer Strasmore, played by DWAYNE JOHNSON, inquires about the video, Brewer says it exists but promises it “won’t see the light of day.” Strasmore confronts that player, who was cut from the Rams last episode, about the incident but ends up agreeing to sign him anyway.

BEYOND FOOTBALL: Fictional Cowboys DT Vernon Littlefield, played by DONOVAN CARTER, continues to wrestle with his future in football. When his manager implores him to not retire, he says, “At what price? I only got one body, one brain.” Meanwhile, RICK FOX makes a cameo as himself, giving advice to Littlefield’s manager about starting an esports organization (Fox this summer was in the news for a potential sale of his own esports team). The manager suggests to Littlefield that he sign his $80M extension with the Cowboys and start his own team. Littlefield obliges and says he wants to sign a female player because "there's not enough women in esports." Meanwhile, Fictional Rams WR Ricky Jerret, played by JOHN DAVID WASHINGTON, decides to give sports media a shot while he is rehabbing from an injury. SirusXM lets Jerret do a live show and Fox Sports’ JAY GLAZER makes a cameo as himself, calling into the show, although under the alias of a fan. Glazer asks about Strasmore as a new owner, which prompts Strasmore himself to call in and discuss his thoughts on CBA negotiations.

LOOK WHO IT IS: Browns WR ODELL BECKHAM JR. made his second cameo of the season, briefly appearing as himself at a party put on by the Sports X agency, which he agreed to a partnership with in an earlier episode. Former UFC fighter RANDY COUTURE also made a cameo as himself, training a fictional NFL player at a gym.
