Antonio Brown Gets Helmet Endorsement Deal With Xenith
Detroit-based helmet manufacturer Xenith announced Raiders WR Antonio Brown has "selected its Shadow model as his helmet for the season, a decision that came with an endorsement deal and ended a saga that has dragged on through training camp," according to Adam Hill of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL. Financial terms "were not disclosed." Brown joins Bills RB Frank Gore and Browns RB Nick Chubb as NFL brand ambassadors for Xenith (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 9/5). Brown's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said that Brown "favored a Schutt helmet partially because it allowed visibility to avoid blind-side hits." In announcing the endorsement deal, Xenith said that it and Brown "look towards the future in creating a partnership that is larger than football." In S.F., Matt Kawahara notes Brown posted an Instagram photo of himself "holding a Xenith helmet with the words: 'Helmet drama over.'" Brown wrote in a caption: "Most calculated move by far" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 9/5).
