     The Pistons unveiled the team's new look yesterday with a
fashion show of players and coaches featuring the theme, "A new
breed," according to the DETROIT NEWS.  The team unveiled a new
logo, colors and uniforms.  The logo features a black and silver
horse's head, with a mane flaming in red and gold.  The word
"Pistons" is scripted below in white, black, green and gold, with
flaming exhaust pipes extending from the two S's.  The primary
color is teal, "from now on referred to as Pistons green."
Numbers and lettering are trimmed with dark red, yellow, silver
and black.  There will be four variations of the uniform, with
black the primary color in one.  The uniforms have a secondary
logo, using the letters "DP" in white, green, red and gold with
the flaming exhaust pipes.  Grant Hill: "Everywhere you go around
here, there are constant reminders of the Bad Boys.  And that's
good.  They did great things for this city.  But it's time to
move on."  The logos were created by local artists Robin Brant
and Bill Berris (Chris McCosky, DETROIT NEWS, 5/22).
     GET OUT ON THE HIGHWAY: The team also introduced new
marketing concepts around their new logo, including a full-wrap
SMART bus, a home-shopping show, a traveling merchandise trailer,
and "Pistons Fit for Style," a line for women.  The 30-minute
Pistons home shopping show will air up to 10 times in Detroit and
throughout MI over the next month.  The trailer will tour MI this
summer, including stops at the U.S. 500, Detroit Grand Prix and
Miller 400.   Fans can also call 1-800-399-LOGO to order goods.
The women's line will be available this summer (Pistons).
