Baron Davis Launching Sports Content Division With MiMO Studio

Former NBAer Baron Davis has launched MiMO Sports, a content creation and production division dedicated to creating sports-themed content while inspiring positive family values and diverse storytelling.

The partnership with MiMO Studio includes Davis’ company UWish. MiMO was founded in February by former Nickelodeon President Cyma Zarghami, who retired in 2018 after being with the network for 33 years.

The venture will produce content that appeals to kids -- from real life stories to sports themed scripted content under the umbrella "Heroes of the Game." Already in development is an untitled girls basketball story that will see Davis take on roles as both actor and executive producer. He served as producer of several acclaimed documentaries including “Crips and Bloods: Made in America,” and “Sole Man,” ESPN’s 2015 30 for 30 that looked at the life of sneaker exec Sonny Vaccaro

Davis was one of the original investors for Vitaminwater and helped with the launch of Thrive Market. This year he invested in Kitu Super Coffee, an organic ready-to-drink coffee company, a college savings app called UNest, and is the founder of several companies, including Sports and Lifestyle in Culture, The Black Santa Co., and No Label.
