HBO Sports Acquires Two-Part Tiger Woods Documentary

HBO Sports has acquired a two-part documentary about the life and career of Tiger Woods. The film, titled “Tiger,” is being produced by Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions, in association with director Matthew Heineman’s Our Time Projects. Documentarian Matthew Hamachek is co-directing.

Jigsaw was first reported to be working on a Woods project more than two years ago. Interviewees for the film include former Woods caddy Steve Williams, Nick Faldo, Earl Woods biographer Pete McDaniel, Woods’ high school girlfriend Dina Parr and Rachel Uchitel, a key figure in the Woods infidelity scandal.

The first episode will debut on HBO on Sunday, Dec. 13, with the second part following one week later. The series will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

The documentary is based upon the best-selling '18 book, “Tiger Woods,” by Jeff Benedict and Armen Keteyian. A scripted series based on the book is also being developed by Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse Entertainment. Last month, that project added Rodney Barnes to write and Wheelhouse’s Spoke Studios to produce.
