SRX Hires Shamrock Sports As Exclusive Sales Agency

Superstar Racing Experience has hired Shamrock Sports & Entertainment to be the exclusive sales agency of record for the budding series, and the firm is already in the market seeking a title sponsor among other partners.

SRX launched earlier this week to much fanfare as a new challenger series in motorsports, and while The Montag Group is controlling the commercial side of the company, SBJ has learned that SRX has also appointed Shamrock to help find sponsorships, a previously unreported development.

Shamrock is led by CEO Brian Corcoran, the former NASCAR salesman who landed one of the biggest sports sponsorship deals in history in ’03 by getting Nextel to replace R.J. Reynolds as the title partner of the NASCAR Cup Series.

Corcoran said that SRX and Shamrock have had encouraging feedback in the marketplace thus far, particularly because the series is trying to make deals a one-stop shop that include assets such as at-track, media and IP of the cars and drivers.

The series is aiming to earn $6-9M annually for a title sponsorship, and $1-3M for official partners, depending on assets. The series is aiming to land partners in categories including beer, insurance, retail (grocery, C-store and online), technology, telecom, QSRs, automotive, fuel/lubricants and tires.
