Visa's Chris Curtin Leaving Company At End Of Summer

Visa Chief Brand & Innovation Marketing Officer Chris Curtin is stepping down from his role at the end of the summer, SBJ has learned. In his position, Curtin has overseen the brand’s NFL and Olympic sponsorships, in addition to other high-profile marketing initiatives.

In '18, Curtin negotiated a 12-year extension of Visa’s global IOC sponsorship. He also helped develop Visa’s sponsorship of the IOC's Refugee Olympic team, which debuted in '16. The company currently sponsors over 90 Olympic athletes from more than 50 countries.

Curtin also played a leading role in pushing Visa's sports marketing into its contactless payment technology, and he oversaw Visa’s '19 renewal of its NFL league partnership, which runs through '25.

Curtin has been at Visa for nearly seven years, and in his current role since January '16. It is unclear what Curtin’s next steps will be after leaving Visa. He previously held marketing roles at Hewlett-Packard and Disney.
