Turner To Simulcast Charity Iteration Of "The Match"

Turner will simulcast "The Match: Champions for Charity" across TNT, TBS, truTV and HLN on Sunday, May 24 at 3:00pm ET, with the Bleacher Report app carrying pre-match coverage.

Turner Sports unveiled specifics around the long-rumored show, which will pit Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady in a charity match that will see WarnerMedia and the golfers donate $10M to Covid-19 relief.

The event will be held at the Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Fla. Excel and Lagardère Sports are the tournament organizers. The two companies cut the media deal with WarnerMedia and Turner Sports.

Competition will include a Four-Ball (Best Ball) format on the front nine and a Modified Alternate Shot format on the back nine, where everyone tees off then plays alternate shots from the selected drive.

Producers have developed several on-course challenges to raise more funds for charity. Turner will use open mics throughout the match and its announcers will be able to speak directly to the golfers.

Capital One is returning as the title sponsor. Audi of America, Michelob Ultra and Progressive Insurance are presenting sponsors. Cisco and DraftKings are content integration partners. AT&T, HBO Max, Callaway, Wheels Up and E-Z-GO signed on as associate sponsors.

Designated charities include Direct Relief, the American Red Cross, Save Small Business and the ALL IN Challenge.
