more About you

Most important lesson learned in 2020: This year has reinforced the lesson that even your best-laid plans can get thrown off the rails, and it is always worth it to have a contingency ready for everything.

Go-to person when I need help: Jessica Gelman (CEO, Kraft Analytics Group). Jess introduced me to the world of working in sports while I was completing my MBA at Sloan, and has helped me navigate my career path since.

My inspiration: Kim Ebb, my grandmother. For my whole life she played the role of supporter, role model, inspiration, and constant source of quick wit. The bar that she set for her grandchildren — including serving as the first female law clerk on a U.S. federal appeals court — was a high one. She would only have been slightly appalled that her grandson’s job in sports wasn’t working to bring her beloved Dodgers back to Brooklyn.

In the industry

Biggest surprise when I started my career: The opportunities that can exist within your organization if you are willing to put yourself out there and put in the work, even if you don’t necessarily think you have the expertise coming into the project.

Most exciting aspect of sports business: The ability and opportunity to engage with our fans. There may not be another industry with as avid and engaged a customer base, and we have the opportunity to work with them, learn from them, and innovate to consistently improve their entertainment experience.

How my generation is changing the sports industry: My generation is continuing to push the industry to a more flexible, unified entertainment experience — integrating multiple screen, live gambling and gamification, flexible ticketing models and varied in-arena spaces tailored to different interests.
