Honor Roll: Decade and 2019

We have come to the end of both another remarkable year and an incredibly transformative decade of sports business. One in which new leaders rose to prominence. New facilities and events arrived that will change the way we watch sports. New ways of doing business emerged that have forever altered the competitive landscape. And new dynasties claimed their piece of history. 

On the pages that follow, we have honored both the best of the past 10 years and recognized some of the most impactful people and moments from 2019. Sports Business Journal staffers spent more than five months defining, arguing about and voting on the categories and candidates for the awards on the pages that follow. No outside influence was sought. And yet no choice was simple. The process and the results are a testament to the breadth and depth of an industry poised for even greater growth in the years and decades to come.
