Baseball

The Baltimore Orioles named T.J. BRIGHTMAN senior vice president and chief revenue officer, and promoted JENNIFER GRONDAHL to senior vice president of community development and communications and GREG BADER to senior vice president of administration and experience.

The Florida State League named TERRY REYNOLDS president. Reynolds, who previously served as special assistant to the general manager for the Cincinnati Reds, will replace KEN CARSON, who is retiring.

The Houston Astros promoted PETE PUTILA to assistant general manager, player development; BRANDON TAUBMAN to assistant general manager, player evaluation; BILL FIRKUS to senior director of baseball strategy; ARMANDO VELASCO to senior director of baseball operations; and CHARLES COOK to director of player evaluation.

Basketball

The Golden State Warriors promoted JENNIFER MILLET to senior vice president of marketing and MIKE KITTS to senior vice president of partnerships.

The Utah Jazz promoted JIM OLSON to president.

The Washington Wizards named ROD THORN senior adviser to the general manager.

Colleges

The Big East named NICOLE EARLY senior associate commissioner, marketing and external affairs; BOBBY MULLEN senior director, social and digital media; and BEN PIASCIK coordinator, creative services. Early was associate athletic director and senior woman administrator at George Washington University. 

Cleveland State named KELSIE GORY deputy athletic director for student-athlete experience and senior woman administrator. Gory was assistant athletic director and senior woman administrator at Johns Hopkins University.

Eastern Michigan University named KELLYNN WILSON associate athletic director for student-athlete support services

The University of Houston hired MICHAEL MCBRIDE as senior associate athletic director for external operations. McBride was executive director, entertainment and sports corporate partnerships, at MGM Resorts International.

The University of Massachusetts-Lowell promoted AARON KING to director of multimedia and production.

The University of Miami hired RENAE MYLES PAYNE as senior associate athletic director, administration. Myles Payne was senior associate athletic director for internal operations and senior woman administrator at Winthrop University.

Mercer University hired ALEXIS WARD as special events and operations coordinator for the Mercer Athletic Foundation.

The University of North Carolina-Wilmington named MARK WAGNER senior associate athletic director for internal operations, effective Nov. 1. Wagner is associate athletic director and chief financial officer at Louisiana Tech.

Penn State University promoted KRISTINA PETERSEN to associate athletic director for strategic communications.

Roberts Wesleyan College hired OBAFEMI ALAO as assistant athletic director

Rochester Institute of Technology hired TIM VOLKMANN as director of athletic communications. Volkmann was previously director of athletic communications and media relations at SUNY Geneseo.

Saint Francis University announced that SUSAN ROBINSON FRUCHTL will leave her post as athletic director in March 2020 to pursue other opportunities.

Southern Mississippi University named LEE FIELD assistant athletic director for sports technology.

Texas A&M University named MICHAEL THOMPSON JR. deputy athletic director for external relations and business development. Thompson served in the same role at Ole Miss.

University of Texas Rio Grande Valley hired JOHN EVANS as senior associate athletic director for operations and SETH JONES as assistant athletic director for corporate sponsorships. Evans was senior associate athletic director for facilities at University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Virginia Tech announced that BILL LANSDEN, current Hokie Club executive director, will transition into the senior associate athletic director for development role.

Westminster College named TAMMY IKERD associate athletic director and senior woman administrator.

Esports

Overtime hired CHRIS TOUSSAINT as head of esports. Toussaint was previously the manager of NBA 2K team Magic Gaming.

Hockey

The United States Hockey League promoted STEPHANIE MORGAN to vice president of finance and operations.

The Port Huron Yeti of the National Roller Hockey League named JEFF BLUM general manager.

Marketing

Bass, Berry & Sims named MARC ACKERMAN as counsel for the firm’s sports and media and intellectual property and technology practice groups. Ackerman was general counsel and senior vice president of legal and business affairs at Tough Mudder.

Berk Communications hired RYAN MUCATEL executive vice president and chief operating officer. Mucatel was executive vice president at MWWPR and a managing partner at Taylor.

Collegiate Sports Management Group hired TYLER DICHIARO as project manager and BILL MAYOVSKY as vice president of sales for West Coast. NEIL MALVONE, currently executive vice president, business affairs and strategic partnerships, is now also executive director for esports.

GMR Marketing named KEN BLACK chief creative officer. Black was previously the vice president of digital design transformation and global Olympic creative director at Nike.

Knox Sports hired KAITLYN MCMAHON as manager of new business.

Olympics

USA Diving named TERRY BASSETT its new chief executive officer. Bassett was vice president of partnership marketing and sales for Nitro Circus.

The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee named LUELLA CHAVEZ D’ANGELO chief marketing and communications officer. D’Angelo was previously vice president of marketing and communications for Centura Health.

Other

WWE named JAMES ROSENSTOCK executive vice president, international.

Soccer

Liverpool FC and Fenway Sports Management named KATE PRATT head of sales for the Americas. Pratt was director of marketing partnerships and team sales for Madison Square Garden Company.

Technology

Stadium 1 promoted ED MULLEN to executive vice president

FloSports named MARC RUSKIN an adviser with a focus on FloHockey.
