BASKETBALL

The Atlanta Hawks announced multiple promotions: TRAVIS SCHLENK to president of basketball operations and general manager; CHELSEA LANE to vice president of athletic performance and sports medicine; DAN MARTINEZ to vice president of team operations; DEREK PIERCE to vice president of player personnel; DOTUN AKINWALE JR. to director of scouting; MIKE McNEIVE
to director of player personnel;
DANIEL STARKMAN to senior manager of basketball operations; NICK RESSLER to manager of basketball operations; PAUL JESPERSON to assistant video coordinator; CHRIS MAST to data scientist for athletic performance and sports medicine; and CONNOR SMITH to assistant athletic trainer. The team also hired STEPHEN GILES as pro player personnel scout.

The Portland Trail Blazers promoted AMANDA MANN to senior vice president and general manager of the Rose Quarter, and JIM TAYLOR to senior vice president of communications. Mann was vice president and general manager of venue operations; Taylor was vice president of basketball communications.

COLLEGES

Appalachian State University promoted JOEY JONES to senior associate athletic director for strategic communications. Jones was associate athletic director for strategic communications.

The University at Buffalo announced several promotions: ELAINE RUSSELL and BRIAN BRATTA to associate athletic directors; KATIE BURD and ERIK SILIS to assistant athletic director; BRIAN WOLFF to director of athletic communications; and ZACK McTIGUE to director of marketing.

The University of California, Berkeley named MARISSA NICHOLS director of the newly formed Cameron Institute, a program to support student-athlete development. Nichols was director of leadership and career development at Boston University.

The College Football Playoff named DANIELLE BARTELSTEIN director of team operations. Bartelstein was senior director of football operations at Virginia Tech.

The Colonial Athletic Association promoted LYNN NEWTON to executive associate commissioner for internal affairs and chief financial officer.

University of Denver Athletic Director RON GRAHAME announced his retirement.

Eastern Illinois University hired RASHEED WARD and KAILA TYNER in the academic services department, and named BRIAN CARLIN athletic business manager. KIERSTEN KLEKNER-ALT, assistant athletic director for compliance, will add senior woman administrator duties.

Florida Gulf Coast University named JOHN SINNETT associate athletic director for communication. Sinnett was assistant athletic director for communication at the University of Massachusetts.

George Mason University named KRISTI GIDDINGS deputy athletic director of legal, compliance and NCAA governance. Giddings was associate athletic director at the University of Maryland.

Loyola University Maryland promoted CHRIS ARCHACKI and RYAN EIGENBRODE to associate athletic directors, and MELISSA HASSEN to associate director of game-day marketing, and named ERIK PEDERSEN assistant director of athletic communications; JASON ESTES associate director of strategic marketing and tickets; and baILEY MATHIS assistant director of athletic development.

Saint Peter’s University named KATIE ARCURI interim athletic director. Arcuri was associate athletic director for compliance and senior woman administrator.

The College of Saint Rose named LORI ANCTIL athletic director and associate vice president. Anctil was assistant vice president and deputy athletic director at Siena College.

South Carolina State University named MONIQUE CARROLL deputy athletic director for internal operations and senior women’s administrator. Carroll was associate athletic director for external operations at Prairie View A&M.

Utah Valley University named CHAD FOOTE deputy athletic director. Foote was director of major gifts at the University of Alabama.

HOCKEY

The Colorado Avalanche named MEREDITH LAVERY vice president of marketing. Lavery was director of marketing and sales with Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group.

The Los Angeles Kings named MATT RICHARDSON director of global partnerships.

The Minnesota Wild named BILL GUERIN general manager.

The New York Rangers named TANNER GLASS and TUOMO RUUTU assistant directors of player development; CHRIS MOREHOUSE director of North American scouting; and MARSHALL DAVIDSON and DEREK GINNELL amateur scouts. STEVE KONOWALCHUK was reassigned to the professional scouting staff.

LACROSSE

The National Lacrosse League named JESSICA BERMAN deputy commissioner and executive vice president of business affairs. Berman was vice president of community development, culture and growth for the NHL.

MARKETING

GMR Marketing promoted DANA ERNST to vice president of human resources and staffing.

Independent Sports & Entertainment named ERIC EVENSON director of marketing for ISE Baseball. Evenson was director of athlete relations for BrandForward.

Learfield IMG College named MITCH POLL vice president of national marketing solutions and LAINIE GENTILE vice president of sales. Poll is a former U.S. Olympic Committee and NFL executive. Gentile was with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Lynx and Target Center.

REP1 Baseball named ARIELLE MOYAL director of baseball marketing.

MEDIA

Sunday Group Management promoted MADDIE KOMAR to account and brand manager.

OTHER

Football helmet maker VICIS named CLAES BROQVIST vice president of international expansion and BRIAN MATAKIS vice president of marketing.
