Basketball

The Miami Heat named JOHN VIDALIN chief commercial officer. Vidalin was chief operating officer of the Baltimore Orioles.

Colleges

The Atlantic Coast Conference named MARY MCELROY senior associate commissioner for women’s basketball. McElroy was executive senior associate athletic director and senior woman administrator at Temple University.

The Big Sky Conference named DAN SATTER deputy commissioner. Satter was deputy director of athletics at Boston University.

Robert Morris University named CHRIS KING vice president and athletic director. King was director of intercollegiate athletics at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Yale University named NATHALIE CARTER senior associate athletic director for fan experience. Carter was associate athletic director for marketing and promotions at Colgate University.

Esports

Spectra named JOE HEYER director of esports partnerships, overseeing the Philadelphia Fusion, the new Fusion Arena and N3rd Street Gaming. Heyer spent the last 15 years at NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Facilities

AEG named MANNY JACOBO vice president of premium sales and service at the Staples Center and Microsoft Theater, and promoted DAVID BREWSTER to director of premium sales for the two venues.

AELRED KURTENBACH, co-founder of Daktronics, will be inducted into the Information Display & Entertainment Association (IDEA) Hall of Fame at the group’s annual conference in July.

International Sports Properties and its founder, BEN SUTTON, were named recipients of the National Sports Media Association’s Roone Arledge Award for Innovation.

MARC POLLICK, founder and president of The Giving Back Fund, was inducted into the Cleveland Heights High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.

The University of New Haven, Henry Lee College of Criminal Justice awarded ROBERT MCDONALD, NBA director of international security, with a lifetime achievement award. McDonald’s career included more than 20 years with the U.S. Secret Service before joining the NBA in 2015.
