The University of Illinois at Chicago hired ERYN COOK as associate athletic director of compliance. Cook was associate athletic director for compliance at Chicago State University.

Le Moyne College Assistant Vice President and Athletic Director MATT BASSETT will retire, effective June 30.

Middle Tennessee State University promoted LARRY MAPLES to associate athletic director for facilities and operations.

North Dakota State University Senior Associate Athletic Director and the university’s Team Makers Club Executive Director PAT SIMMERS will retire, effective May 15.

The University of Notre Dame hired MARIO MORRIS as deputy athletic director for business operations. Morris was chief financial officer for the University of Wisconsin athletic department.

West Virginia University promoted VINCE BLANKENSHIP to assistant athletic director and head athletics trainer for football.

HOK hired KEVIN NOWAK as a regional leader in Philadelphia for its sports, recreation and entertainment practice.

Football

The XFL hired HEATHER BROOKS KARATZ as president for the team in Los Angeles and RYAN GUSTAFSON as team president in Seattle. Karatz was executive vice president and general counsel for the Los Angeles Football Club and Banc of California Stadium, and Gustafson was vice president of business strategy and development for the Seattle Sounders FC.

Esports organization Team Secret hired investment banker JOHN COSTAS as vice chairman of strategy and finance

Hockey

The National Hockey League hired JOHN LEWICKI as vice president of international business development and partnerships. Lewicki was head of global alliances for McDonald’s.

Horse Racing

The New York Racing Association named DAVID O’ROURKE chief executive officer and president.

The Buffalo Groupe hired DEREK KOENIG as chief creative and content officer for the Buffalo Agency. Koenig was senior vice president of creative for Discovery.
