UJA-Federation of New York honored Endeavor EVP Karen Brodkin and IMG Media SVP Hillary Mandel at its Sports for Youth annual Luncheon on June 21 at The Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. Pam Frasco, VP of marketing and communications for the Cleveland Monsters, received the Ken McKenzie Award from David Andrews, president and CEO of the American Hockey League, last month. First presented in 1978, the award honors McKenzie, the founder and longtime publisher of The Hockey News and the NHL’s first publicity director.

Back Where It All Started
NBA MVP James Harden of the Houston Rockets returned to his alma mater, Audubon Middle School, in Los Angeles on June 24 for the Adidas Basketball “Imma Be a Star” Block Party. Harden and Adidas unveiled 12 new outdoor courts at the school and announced plans to update the school’s basketball gym later this year.
