Colleges

California State University, Northridge parted ways with Athletic Director Brandon Martin.

 

Florida Atlantic University hired Brian White as vice president and athletic director. White was deputy athletic director for external relations at the University of Missouri.

 

Harvard University hired Christian Bray as associate athletic director for compliance. Bray was assistant athletic director for compliance and senior woman administrator at Yale University.

 

The Naval Academy promoted Jim Berry to associate athletic director for sports medicine. 

 

Rice University promoted Brian Mann to senior associate athletic director and chief development officer, and hired David Pillen as assistant athletic director for marketing. Pillen was assistant athletic director for marketing at Louisiana Tech University.

 

The University of Richmond hired Matt McCollester as assistant athletic director for communications. McCollester was assistant athletic director for strategic communications at UNC-Greensboro.

 

USC Upstate dismissed Athletic Director Julio Freire.

 

Facilities

International Speedway Corp.-owned Michigan International Speedway named Wes Weir vice president of corporate partnerships and ticket sales. Weir was director of corporate partnerships for ISC.

 

Football

The Miami Dolphins promoted Tom Garfinkel vice chairman, in addition to his duties as president and chief executive officer.

 

The Cotton Bowl Athletic Association named Carl Ice chairman.

 

The NovaArizonaBowl named Del Arvayo chief operations officer.

 

The San Francisco 49ers named Paraag Marathe president of 49ers Enterprises. Marathe will continue in his current role for the team as executive vice president of football operations.

 

Hockey

The Dallas Stars promoted Brad Alberts to president, Alana Matthews to executive vice president of business operations and general counsel, and Matt Bowman to executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer.

 

Marketing

Engine Shop hired Hye-Young Cuddy as part of its new global sports marketing practice. Cuddy was formerly an account manager for the International Olympic Committee.

 

MKTG Canada promoted Matthew Logue to president, in addition to his duties as chief operating officer.

 

rEvolution hired Chris Sonntag as managing director and head of global sponsorship consulting. Sonntag was vice president of global partnerships strategy and activation for WME-IMG.

 

Media

The Players’ Tribune hired Dan Peres as editorial director. Peres was formerly editor in chief for Details Magazine.

 

Univision Chief Executive Officer Randy Falco will retire at the end of 2018. The company also hired Peter Lori as chief financial officer.

 

Multiteam Companies

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx announced that Chief Financial Officer Roger Griffith will be resigning, effective April 15, and the organization will promote Pete Stene to chief financial officer.

 

Pacers Sports & Entertainment hired Brent Rockwood as senior vice president for corporate, community and public relations. Rockwood will succeed Bill Benner, who will remain with the organization as director of the Pacers Foundation.

 

Olympics

International Association of Athletics Federations Chief Executive Officer Olivier Gers resigned.

 

USA Triathlon named Victoria Brumfield chief of staff. Brumfield was vice president of global operations for Virgin Sport. Also, High Performance General Manager Andy Schmitz resigned after seven years in that role.

 

Sporting Goods and Apparel 

WinCraft promoted Chris Wolfe to national sales director for its college division.

 

Awards and Boards

Rugby International Marketing named Dan Payne, USA Rugby chief executive officer, chairman of the board. Payne will step down from his USA Rugby post after the Rugby World Cup Sevens in July.

 

Other

FanThreeSixty hired Jason Houseworth as president and chief executive officer. Houseworth was chief innovation officer for H&R Block.

 

Nolan Partners hired Andrew Moss as its global head of media and entertainment. Moss was chief commercial officer for Oliver & Ohlbaum Associates. 

 

WWE promoted Brian Flinn to chief marketing and communications officer.
