Major League Baseball hired Ryan Sollazzo as director of sponsorship sales. Sollazzo was director of partnership development for the San Diego Padres.

Basketball
The Chinese Basketball Association named former NBA player Yao Ming president.

Colleges
Boston College Athletic Director Brad Bates will step down at the end of the academic year to join executive search Collegiate Sports Associates.

Bucknell University named Ian Wood associate athletic director for sports medicine. Wood was director of sports medicine at Colorado College.

The University of Delaware hired Kallie Knop as associate athletic director for communications and digital strategy. Knop was a director in the strategic communications practice for FTI Consulting.

James Madison University hired Benjamin Hein as director of event management. Hein was director of facilities and events at the University of Texas San Antonio.

Winthrop University hired Sherika Montgomery as associate athletic director for student success. Montgomery was assistant commissioner and senior woman administrator for the Big South Conference.

ABM Sports & Entertainment promoted Art Rodriguez to vice president of national operations and Erin Fazio to national director of sales.

Football
The NFL Referees Association named Tony Steratore president. Steratore succeeds Jeff Triplette.

The Los Angeles Kings hired Emma Tani as coordinator of leagues and rinks.

Marketing
ANC named Jack Bailey senior vice president of project management.

IRG Sports & Entertainment hired Jeff Birchfield as director of public relations.

Ryan Dawkins launched sponsorship and experiential marketing company Mascot Sports.

Medalist Sports hired Melanie Blakey as project manager for cause-related events and projects. Blakey was a production specialist for Wits’ End Productions.

hired Patrick Hodges and Lonnie Garner as art directors, Taryn Rudolph as an account executive and Shannon Mac-Lean as an account coordinator.

NBC Sports Regional Networks promoted Walter Cade to senior vice president of sales.

Pegula Sports and Entertainment promoted Bruce Popko to chief operating officer and Erica Muhleman to executive vice president of business development.

Manchester United hired Phil Lynch as chief executive officer of media. Lynch was global head and vice president of content and media partnerships for Yahoo.

Pro Performance Sports hired Tim Wiseman as president and chief operating officer. Wiseman was vice president of emerging markets for Nike.

Mylan World TeamTennis promoted Matt Fitzgerald to vice president of digital and manager of player operations.

WWE named Sal Siino senior vice president of global content distribution and business development. Siino was co-founder, president and chief operating officer of WeMash.

Bandwagon hired Samotria Holmes as chief operating officer. Holmes was a sales manager for Scansource.

Hunden Strategic Partners hired David Stone as vice president. Stone was principal for AECOM Economics.

The National Small College Rugby Organization named Mark Reilly to its board.

Thomas Rosandich, United States Sports Academy founding president, was named to the International Sports Hall of Fame.

Pacific Pro Football named Baron Flenory, Pylon 7on7 Football founder and chief executive officer, to its advisory board.

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft
