Baseball

NUSE
The Class AAA Pacific Coast League’s Nashville Sounds named Adam Nuse general manager. Nuse was general manager and chief operating officer for the Class A Bowling Green (Ky.) Hot Rods.

The Arizona Diamondbacks hired former MLB player Willie Bloomquist as a special assistant to the president and chief executive officer.

Basketball
The Brooklyn Nets promoted Ryan Gisriel to director of basketball administration and hired Natalie Jay as a cap and contract specialist and Andrew Baker as strategic planning coordinator.

The Philadelphia 76ers promoted Brandon Williams to vice president of basketball administration and hired Marc Eversley as vice president of player personnel and Ned Cohen as associate vice president and chief of staff. Eversley was vice president of player personnel for the Washington Wizards, and Cohen was associate vice president of basketball operations for the NBA.

The Women’s National Basketball Players Association named Terri Carmichael Jackson director of operations. Jackson was NCAA director of law, policy and governance.

Colleges

WEAVER
The University of California, Riverside hired Jessica Harbison Weaver as assistant athletic director for compliance services. Harbison Weaver was assistant athletic director for compliance at Mercer University.

The Big East Conference hired Vince Nicastro as deputy commissioner and chief operating officer. Nicastro was athletic director at Villanova University.

The College of the Holy Cross hired Dan Mercurio as director of athletics marketing. Mercurio was director of marketing and strategic planning at Boston University.

Indiana State University promoted Angie Lansing to senior associate athletic director. Lansing will continue as the department’s senior woman administrator.

Montana State University named Leon Costello athletic director. Costello was deputy athletic director at South Dakota State University.

Virginia Military Institute promoted Sarah Keller to assistant athletic director for facilities and compliance, and Hillary Masdon to assistant athletic trainer.

The University of Minnesota named Mark Coyle athletic director. Coyle was athletic director at Syracuse University.

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke hired Grace Moore as assistant athletic director for marketing partnerships. Moore was an assistant for external affairs at Canisius College.

The University of South Carolina’s department of sport and entertainment named Susan O’Malley, former Washington Sports and Entertainment and Washington Wizards president and chief executive officer, a senior instructor.

Facilities

CALLIWAY
Venue management firm SMG named Diane Calliway director of human resources and administrative services for the Cobo Center in Detroit.

The Los Caballeros Sports Club named Edwin Weathersby director of sports marketing.

The USL’s Pittsburgh Riverhounds hired Tom Smith as general manager of Highmark Stadium. Smith was assistant vice president and director of sales for Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

RIOS
Homestead-Miami Speedway named Gregorio Rios communications manager.

Football
The NFL named Natalie Ravitz senior vice president of communications. Ravitz was chief of staff and senior vice president of strategy for 21st Century Fox and News Corp.

NFL Media promoted David Nickoll to executive producer of NFL Now and alternative programming and Rick Qualliotine to vice president of emerging production platforms and systems.

The Philadelphia Eagles named Joe Douglas vice president of player personnel, Andy Weidl assistant director of player personnel, Alec Halaby vice president of football operations and strategy, Tom Donahoe senior football adviser, Anthony Patch senior director of college scouting, Trey Brown director of college scouting, Mike Bradway assistant director of college scouting and Rick Mueller player personnel executive.

RICHARDS
The Seattle Seahawks promoted Jeff Richards to vice president of marketing.

The San Francisco 49ers named former NFL player Parys Haralson director of player engagement.

Hockey
The Arizona Coyotes named John Chayka general manager, Gary Drummond president of hockey operations and Dave Tippett executive vice president of hockey operations and head coach.

Marketing

WHITWORTH
Marketing and event management company Knight Eady hired Mark Whitworth as the chief operating officer. Whitworth was associate commissioner for the Southeastern Conference.

Tandem Sports & Entertainment hired Leslie Groves as vice president of marketing and brand development. Groves was director of communications, marketing and partnerships for the U.S. Tennis Association Mid-Atlantic Section.

Team Epic promoted Ryan Rudman to manager and Andy Holmes, Jake Deitcher, Emily Crabtree, Michelle Bevilacqua, Kelsey Peyton, Matt Tolkowsky and Mike Anagnostakos to associate.

TRUE
Professional Sports Partners hired Brad True as an activation manager.

Media
Disney and ESPN Media Networks promoted Mia Rondinella to senior vice president of global distribution and strategy.  

Competitor Group named John Bradley senior vice president of media. Bradley will continue his role as editor-in-chief of VeloNews.

Olympics
Los Angeles 2024 named U.S. International Olympic Committee member and former Olympian Angela Ruggiero chief strategy officer.

Tennis

CORIO
The U.S. Tennis Association hired Kirsten Corio as managing director of ticket and digital strategy. Corio was vice president of team marketing and business operations for the NBA.

Other
Atlanta Motor Speedway named Elizabeth “B.J.” Mathis executive director of the Atlanta chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.

Awards and Boards
The Sports Turf Managers Association named John Watt, athletic fields manager for the North Kansas City School District, as K-12 director for 2016.

The nonprofit Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation named Philadelphia Flyers President Paul Holmgren and attorney Paul Troy to its board of directors.
