Legends turn out for the Buoniconti Fund

Phoenix preps Championship Campus

The Arizona Organizing Committee for the 2016 College Football Playoff national championship named the Ak-Chin Indian Community as the presenting sponsor of the Championship Campus in downtown Phoenix. The campus will serve as a hub of events and activities in the days leading up to the title game on Jan. 11 at University of Phoenix Stadium. Just for kicks in Philly

Santander Bank launched its second annual Santander Field Goal Challenge, where fans have the chance to kick a game-day field goal to win $10,000 and score an additional $10,000 donation for a school of the winner’s choice. New name for Independence arena

At the Sept. 30 renaming ceremony for Silverstein Eye Centers Arena (formerly Independence Events Center) are Spectra’s Todd Mitchell, arena GM; Frank White, Jackson County legislator and Kansas City Royals hall of famer; Independence, Mo., Mayor Eileen Weir; Dr. Steven Silverstein of Silverstein Eye Centers; and Lamar Hunt Jr., president/owner of the ECHL Missouri Mavericks. Spectra identified and negotiated the naming rights deal with Silverstein Eye Centers.
