Ballengee hires three, two from Relativity

Ballengee Group has hired MLB agents Steve Rath, James Reid and Tom Little, longtime agent to San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner, the company announced last week.

Oil executive James Ballengee launched Ballengee Group in October 2014. Rath worked at the Beverly Hills Sports Council, and Reid and Little arrived from Relativity Baseball.

It is not clear how many players, if any, the agents took with them to Ballengee Group.

Little has 12 years of experience as an agent and represents, in addition to Bumgarner, Detroit Tigers pitcher Alex Wilson. Reid is an attorney with more than 10 years of baseball experience in player representation, financial advising, and legal and NCAA student-athlete matters.

Rath brings more than 20 years of professional baseball experience to Ballengee Group, including 14 years at Beverly Hills Sports Council. Before that Rath held scouting positions for the former Montreal Expos and the Seattle Mariners organizations.
