Basketball
The Denver Nuggets named Pete D’Alessandro senior vice president of business and team operations. D’Alessandro was general manager of the Sacramento Kings.

Colleges
Miami University hired Scott Usher and Katie Rose Thornton as assistant directors of development/major gift officers.

The Pac-12 Conference named Heather Vaughan vice president of marketing for the Pac-12 Network. Vaughan will keep the same position with the conference.

Virginia Tech hired Bill Lansden as senior associate athletic director for development and executive director of the Hokie Club. Lansden was the senior associate athletic director for external relations at the University of Alabama Birmingham.

Eastern Michigan University named Talea Drummer associate athletic director for student-athlete support services.

The Southeastern Conference named William King associate commissioner for legal affairs and compliance.

Facilities
Centerplate promoted Simon Pile to director of new business partnerships for Europe.

Football
The Carolina Panthers promoted Brandon Beane to assistant general manager.

PISTORIUS
The Miami Dolphins named Myles Pistorius senior vice president and general counsel. Pistorius was senior vice president of content and business affairs for the NBA.

The San Francisco 49ers promoted Dan Cory to vice president of security, Hannah Gordon to vice president of legal and government affairs, Bob Lange to vice president of communications, Maggie Cuneo to community relations senior coordinator and Brad Dugan to senior manager of ticket operations. Demar Amacker was named CRM analyst, Stephanie Gabriel human resources assistant and Ryan Scarlett ticket operations specialist.  

Media
ESPN hired Vikram Somaya as senior vice president and global data officer. Somaya was general manager of AdFX and analytics for the Weather Co.

Golf
The Farmers Insurance Open hired Danny Waite as senior partnerships representative, Michelle Willette and Lauren Grondin as senior managers of partner relations, and Maryn Bieganski as ticket and service manager and partnerships representative.

Hockey
The Colorado Avalanche hired Greg Sherman as senior vice president of business and team operations.

Marketing
Raptor Sports Group hired Bill Nielsen as senior vice president for the FanManager product.

Media
One World Sports hired Rachel Gary as director of media strategy and communications. Gary was director of communications for the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games.

Sporting Goods and Apparel
Fanatics Inc. named Lauren Cooks Levitan chief financial officer. Levitan was co-founder and managing partner at Moxie Capital.

Awards and Boards
Kony Inc. appointed Ben Crenshaw to the company’s advisory board.

Other
Baptist Health Care and the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine named David Joyner senior vice president and executive director of the Andrews Institute.

The National Athletic Trainers’ Association named Mark Coberley and A.J. Duffy III board members. The association also named Scott Sailor president.
