From April 6: College writer Michael Smith and editor Tom Stinson talk about the Pac-12's study and how it could alter the college rights model.

Virginia is in deep discussions with IMG College and Outfront Media Sports for a new deal, while LSU is in renewal talks with Outfront. The rights at Texas A&M and Auburn also are up for grabs.

The Aggies came out of an exclusive negotiating period with Learfield in recent months and decided to issue a request for proposal. The RFP deadline for bids at Texas A&M is this week and competition among the major rights holders is expected to be fierce. The school is completing a major stadium renovation and its membership in the SEC could spike the value of its rights.

Auburn, an IMG College school, is expected to issue its own RFP this summer, creating another highly competitive bid process. Rights for the top schools in the SEC range from $10 million to $15 million per year.
