Baseball
The Minnesota Twins hired Mary Giesler as vice president and general counsel. Giesler was a partner at Kaplan, Strangis and Kaplan.

REBHOLZ
UCLA promoted Josh Rebholz to senior associate athletic director for external affairs.

The University of Michigan promoted Justin Dickens to director of football operations. Dickens was public and media relations director for the football program.

Emerson College named Patricia Nicol director of athletics and recreation, effective May 19. Nicol was athletic director at Southern Connecticut State University.

George Mason University Athletic Director Tom O’Connor announced his retirement, effective June 30. O’Connor will remain with the university in a fundraising role until January.

The University of Pennsylvania named M. Grace Calhoun director of recreation and intercollegiate athletics, effective July 1. Calhoun was athletic director and assistant vice president at Loyola University Chicago.

WSZOLEK
The University of Illinois promoted Matt Wszolek to senior executive of marketing and media.

Western Washington University promoted Steven Card to athletic director.

Lewis & Clark College named Shana Levine athletic director. Levine was associate athletic director at Washington and Lee University.

The University of Sioux Falls named Josh Snyder athletic director, effective May 1. Snyder was senior associate athletic director for compliance and development at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Football
The College Football Hall of Fame, scheduled to open in Atlanta in August, named Mark Petersen vice president of finance and administration, Marcus Margerum vice president of marketing and communications, Matt Lynch vice president of fan experience, Shawn Teske vice president of operations and infrastructure, and Mike Bilbow vice president of content and production.

Hockey
Hockey Canada named Rob Blake general manager of Canada’s men’s team for the 2014 IIHF World Championship. Blake is assistant general manager for the Los Angeles Kings.

Marketing

WATKINS
3 Point Productions named Michael Watkins partner and business director.

Aim Marketing Solutions named Johanna Styne Pellechia business development director.

Media
Inside Lacrosse promoted Dan Flynn to director of events. The company also named Amy Weinstein Flynn director of sales, Ashley McCulloch assistant director of events, Halley Quillinan women’s editor, Sean Foster Web developer and Ty Xanders recruiting and high school coordinator.

Sportstalkboston.com named Jason Wolfe chief content officer, effective April 10. Wolfe was vice president of programming operations for Entercom New England.

Soccer
MLS’s Portland Timbers promoted Kristel Wissel to director of community relations.
