ATLANTA
Credit union expands Hawks deal

Georgia’s Own Credit Union expanded its partnership with the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena, converting the former First Horizon Club into the Georgia’s Own Credit Union Club. The club level provides guests with premium parking, special entrance into the arena, and access to first-class food and beverage options. Credit union signage will be displayed throughout the club level at both its entrance and on elevators, in the parking deck, and throughout the dining areas.

MSG Net covers Sabres in Europe

MSG Networks added the Buffalo Sabres’ season-opening trip to its original series “The Game 365.” The Sabres traveled to Germany and Finland for the start of the 2011-12 NHL season. The show takes fans behind the scenes on the team’s road trip, including a trip by the Sabres to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center to visit wounded American soldiers.

D-League court ready for Charge
The Canton Charge’s new basketball court arrived at the Canton Memorial Civic Center, ready for action when the Charge tips off its inaugural season on Friday against the defending NBA D-League champion Iowa Energy. Framed on all sides in wine and gold, the Charge’s connection to the Cleveland Cavaliers is immediately recognized. The court was purchased from Connor Sports Flooring in Salt Lake City and finished by Ohio Floor Co.

KeyBank to present Snow Days

KeyBank, the official bank of the Cleveland Indians, will be the presenting partner of the 2011 Indians Snow Days. The partnership includes title sponsorship of The Rookie Rink and participation with the “Snow Year’s Eve” fireworks show on Dec. 31, as well as being the exclusive banking partner of Indians Snow Days.

Captains marking 10 years
The Lake County (Ohio) Captains, Class A affiliate of the MLB Indians, unveiled a logo to commemorate the team’s coming 10th anniversary season at Classic Park in Eastlake. The Captains relocated from Columbus, Ga., and began playing in Northeast Ohio in April 2003.

DETROIT
Chrysler selling Red Wings truck

Chrysler Group’s Ram trucks brand, the Great Lakes Business Center and Southeast Michigan Ram dealers expanded their partnership with the Detroit Red Wings. Ram was named the official truck of the Red Wings, and local dealers are selling a limited number of special edition Red Wings Ram 1500 trucks, which include logoed front-seat headrests and team graphics on the tailgate and rear bed sides. Colors available are red, white and black.

Bridgestone, tour collect golf balls

The International Junior Golf Tour is partnering with Bunkers in Baghdad and Bridgestone Golf to collect golf balls for U.S. armed forces serving overseas. Bridgestone Golf will donate a dozen new golf balls for every 100 collected. Bunkers in Baghdad is a nonprofit group that gathers and delivers golf balls, clubs and equipment to U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The golf tour is headquartered in Hilton Head Island.

KANSAS CITY
Track to be immortalized in Legos

Kansas Speedway was selected as one of 10 attractions for LegoLand Discovery Center’s Miniland. A Lego version of Kansas Speedway will be on display at the 30,000-square-foot interactive attraction, planned for a May opening at Kansas City’s Crown Center.

LAS VEGAS
LVMS maintaining Petty hub

Las Vegas Motor Speedway will continue to be the West Coast hub for the Richard Petty Driving Experience in 2012. The speedway and the Petty operation will offer more than 150 days of ride-alongs and driving experiences in 2012. This is an extension of an agreement that dates to the speedway’s opening in 1996.

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL
Lacrosse team partners with channel

KSTC-TV, Channel 45, will rebroadcast all eight of the NLL Minnesota Swarm’s regular-season home contests during the 2012 season. The partnership marks the first time in team history that every Swarm home game will air on television.

NEWARK, N.J.
Devils get energy sponsor

The New Jersey Devils and Pfister Energy forged a new sponsorship agreement for the 2011-12 NHL season. In addition to having in-arena and in-game promotion, Pfister Energy and the Devils created an Energize the Community program. The children’s education initiative will focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy through creative arts programming.

Ainsworth Prime opens at arena

The Madison Square Garden Co. and Paige Management Group have partnered to open Ainsworth Prime at Madison Square Garden. The gastropub and event space is in the former Club Bar & Grill location. Ainsworth Prime will be open for all New York Knicks and Rangers games and select other affairs, such as private events.

Union kits a mystery until ‘92,012’
The Philadelphia Union will reveal its new primary and secondary kits for the 2012 season at a time to be determined by the MLS club’s fans. The uniforms will be unveiled when the team’s Facebook page reaches 92,012 “likes” in honor of the 2012 season. These will be the fourth and fifth kit versions for the Union, as the club debuted a white option last year. The “likes” counter surpassed 87,000 last week.

Regatta series signs restaurant, hotel
The Philadelphia Classic Regatta Series signed a sponsorship deal with the Philadelphia Buca di Beppo restaurant to be its official host restaurant in 2011. Series organizers also signed a deal with the The Crowne Plaza Philadelphia Downtown to be the event’s official host hotel for 2011 and 2012. Financial terms were not disclosed. The series features more than 35,000 competitors in more than 7,700 boats representing teams from high schools, colleges, clubs, masters and open programs from around the country.

Univest drops cycling event sponsorship
Univest Corp. is ending its 14-year sponsorship of the professional cycling event in suburban Philadelphia that had been known as the Univest Grand Prix. The bank, based in Souderton, Pa., wants to dedicate more of its local spending on local nonprofit organizations. The Univest Grand Prix was created by two-time U.S. national champion John Eustice, president of Sparta Cycling of New York.

Suns launch Google+ page
The Phoenix Suns have launched an official Google+ page. Members of Google+ who add the Suns to their social “circles” will receive unique access to the team, including exclusive content, opportunities to win Suns gear and experiences, and invitations to hang out with Suns personalities via live video chats.

Arena group names winning designer

Troy Bedal of Roseville, Calif., won the citizen architect design competition for Sacramento’s proposed downtown arena for the NBA Kings. The Think Big Sacramento arena committee chose Bedal for his Walk of Fame idea. His design would feature engraved bricks for people and organizations helping with the arena.

OU, OSU meet in Bedlam Blood Battle

The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University football rivalry continues for a second year with the Bedlam Blood Battle. Learfield Sports represents both schools, which in conjunction with their coming football game will compete for the most blood donors for the Oklahoma Blood Institute. The campus that can generate the largest number of blood donors will earn a trophy and bragging rights. In addition, two donors’ names will be drawn to each win a pair of tickets to the Dec. 3 OU-OSU football game.
