People: Sidwell named USF athletic director

College
Louisiana State University assigned expanded duties to Athletic Director Joe Alleva and Senior Associate Athletic Director Herb Vincent by naming Alleva vice chancellor and athletic director and Vincent associate vice chancellor for university relations.

King College named David Hicks athletic director. Hicks was assistant athletic director and softball coach at Rhodes College.

University of the Pacific Athletic Director Lynn King will step down to become a special assistant to the school’s president. Ted Leland, now vice president of external affairs and former Stanford athletic director, will be Pacific’s athletic director for a two-year term.

The University of San Francisco named Scott Sidwell athletic director. Sidwell was executive senior associate athletic director at Syracuse University.

Texas Tech University named Joe Parker deputy athletic director. Parker was senior associate athletic director for development and corporate relations at the University of Michigan.

Syracuse University named Chris Gedney senior associate athletic director.

Wabash College named Joseph Haklin athletic director. He is athletic director at Marian University and will begin his new role at Wabash in July.

The University of Kansas hired Terry Mohajir as associate athletic director for development and marketing. Mohajir was senior associate athletic director at Florida Atlantic University.

Facilities
Staples Center promoted Danielle Edouarde to vice president of guest services and security and named David Born to the same position. Born was director of security at The Home Depot Center.

Finance

Fasulo
Park Lane named Robert Fasulo director of corporate development-international. Fasulo was the chief of international relations for the U.S. Olympic Committee.

Golf
The PGA of America named Darrell Crall senior director of Golf 2.0. Crall was director of the Northern Texas PGA.

Hockey
Fred Pletsch was named commissioner of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. Pletsch was associate commissioner.

Marketing
Tammy Genovese created Music City Sports and Entertainment Group. Genovese was president of The Country Network.

STR Marketplace hired Chelsey Stamps as administrative and data entry assistant. Stamps was a sales associate at Toyota Center.

Team Epic promoted Alana Flinn to director, Dave Knight to senior fleet manager and Suzie Sackman to senior manager. It hired Parker Knox and Brenna Dykta as associates and Amber Crouch as a manager.

CSE promoted Ned Simon to senior vice president of programming and media services and named Chris Baumgartner account director for AT&T, Berkley Egenes account director for Kellogg’s and Chelsea Etheridge account director for Coca-Cola.

Archibald
Strategic hired Tim Archibald as account executive.

Connexions Sports & Entertainment named Matt DeLawder director of business development.

Media
Ion Media Networks hired Lauren Gellert as vice president of production and development. Gellert was senior vice president at Zodiak USA.

Root Sports Pittsburgh hired Doug Johnson as vice president and executive producer. Johnson was coordinating producer for Fox Sports Ohio.

Sportsman Channel promoted Todd Hansen to chief operating officer. Hansen co-founded the channel in 2003 and has been serving as senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Turner Sports named Jon Kropp to the newly created position of vice president of business operations for the company’s golf portfolio.

Motorsports
NASCAR promoted Norris Scott to vice president of partnership marketing, Jill Gregory to vice president of industry services, George Silbermann to vice president of regional and touring series and Marcus Jadotte to vice president of public affairs and multicultural development.

The American Le Mans Series hired Taylor Carson as manager of public relations and media services.

Soccer
D.C. United hired Dawn Ridley as vice president of business development. Ridley was director of corporate partnerships for National Geographic Society.

Sporting Goods and Apparel
Adidas named Andreas Gellner managing director of Southeast Europe and Subhinder Singh Prem head of operations for India.

Ogio promoted Steve Humphreys to golf sales manager for the Eastern U.S.

Other
Chicago White Sox director of public relations Luis Hernandez left the team to become executive director of the Rauner Family YMCA in Chicago.

The Moyer Foundation, founded by ESPN MLB analyst Jamie Moyer, hired Kevin Sullivan as national executive director. Sullivan was chief executive officer for the American Red Cross in the Central New Jersey region.

Awards and Boards
The National Association of Sports Commissions appointed to its board of directors Tara Green as chair, Gary Alexander as vice chair and chair-elect, Terry Hasseltine as treasurer and Kevin Smith as secretary.

Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for the “Building a Memory” retrospective on the Spectrum.

Richard Struthers was elected to the Dover Motorsports board of directors.

The NCAA elected to the Division I board of directors University of California-Riverside Chancellor Timothy White, Wright State President David Hopkins, South Carolina President Harris Pastides and Cornell President David Skorton.

The Pro Football Writers of America awarded Bob McGinn the McCann Award for his coverage of the Green Bay Packers for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
