La Liga Signs Four-Year Deal With Chinese Super League

La Liga and the Chinese Super League on Friday signed a four-year strategic agreement, according to XINHUA. La Liga President Javier Tebas said that his league can help its Chinese counterpart become one of the top six football leagues in the world. Tebas said that Spain's knowledge could help China bid to host a World Cup in the future. He added, "And who knows, maybe one day they may win it." The agreement "will also see young Chinese coaches and players come to Spain and Spaniards go to China to enrich each nations' football culture." CSL Secretary General Zheng Dong said, "We are going to help the Spanish league increase its influence in China. ... We can also help to promote their trademark by organizing tournaments for young players, something that will also help us improve" (XINHUA, 1/18).
