Franchise Notes: Dundee United Owner Rules Out Merging With Dundee

Scottish Championship side Dundee United Owner Mark Ogren has "categorically ruled out" a merger with Scottish Premiership side Dundee -- and "any potential groundshare." Ogren responded to rumors circulating around Tayside that the two clubs "could become one." He said, "It's coming from everybody else but not Dundee United. We're not interested in that. I don't know that group at all. It's not why we invested" (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 1/15).

League Championship side Leeds United Manager Marcelo Bielsa said that members of his Leeds coaching staff have "watched training sessions of all their opponents before playing them this season." Bielsa said, "Many people have made an opinion on my behavior. Many condemning the behavior, saying that it was not ethical, it was not moral. I observed all rivals we played against. We watched all the training sessions before we played them. What I have done is not illegal. We can discuss it, it's not seen as a good thing, but it's not a violation of the law" (SKY SPORTS, 1/16).
